Sopot: a Baltic sea coastal resort

By Debbie - 11:46 AM

SOPOT, POLAND

Since we were in Gdansk and had a car, we decided to discover a bit more of Poland. So we thought it was a good idea to see a bit of the baltic sea coast and visit Sopot!
Did I know that city before? The truth is I've never heard about it, I just did a research for the closest beach cities from where we were and I read that Sopot has the longest pier in Europe! Having fresh memories from Californian amazing piers and beaches I thought that would be a good idea. It was not just a good idea, it was an amazing one. Because Sopot is such a wonderful place!

I was amazed from the first moment that we were approaching the city centre by our car. When I got out and walked down the main commercial street I was not believing it!
A glamorous resort city with many shops and restaurants, a beautiful vibrant main road that leads you to the pier (Molo) and a walking area full of trees leading you to the huge beach! It was slightly breezy and wonderful.
When we finally went to the beach and saw the big coast, it did reminded me a bit of California. It was fabulous.
It was Saturday night, so the nightlife was also epic. Many young people walking in the streets, beautiful people having fun hanging around the beach and going to the clubs.
Now I can say that Sopot is one of the best european cities I have ever visited.
The beauty of Sopot cannot be captured in any photos.
Here is a small taste of the city:
The life aquatic:

♬ Το gofre είναι must try!

Some useful tips:
♬ Being in a resort city means that everything is a bit more expensive, so be prepared.
The admission to Sopot Pier is 7.5 zloti, but its worth. It is 511m long and 10m wide so walking on it gives beautiful views of the city and the beach. Try to go before the sun sets and have a jacket with you just in case.
♬ Try a gofre! A delicious waffle with icecream and fresh fruits! It's addictive!
♬  If you plan to swim, the water is cold!!
♬ If you have time and money then you should definitely sleep at Grand Hotel! It was so magical from the outside, I cannot imagine on the inside! Plus, it will make you feel like you star in a Wes Anderson movie!
Don't miss the Crooked House as you walk down the main street to your left hand.
